Well Connor had another surgery today for his PDA (duct in the heart that takes awhile to close in preemies). The docs at the university thought it was of a moderate size and they would rather do the surgery while he was at the University Hospital then to have to bring him back in a few weeks.
OUr poor boy has been carved up like a pumpkin this week :(
The surgery went well, only took 45 minutes. Now we need to let him heal and watch his blood pressure and what not for a few days to see how everything evens out.
It has been a very rough week for our family, and we are hoping that things will start to climb up hill now. Hoping that fixing the PDA will give him a boost with his lungs. However, at least with the duct close now, it should no longer cycle fluid into the lungs.
